IFS in Challenging Times
IFS in Challenging Times
Cultivating Self Energy for Positive Change
August 20-21, 2026 | 9:00am - 3:00pm CT | Virtual
How do we cultivate and protect Self energy—personally and collectively—when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult?
This live program supports IFS therapists in strengthening their capacity to remain Self-led during challenging times and to help clients do the same.
Whether individuals are navigating personal struggles, professional demands, relationship challenges, community stressors, uncertainty, loss, or broader societal concerns, therapists are often called upon to hold complexity while remaining grounded, present, and compassionate. This program explores how Internal Family Systems℠ (IFS℠) can support both therapists and clients in responding to difficulty with greater clarity, connection, and Self leadership.
Through teaching, experiential practice, and clinical reflection, participants will explore how to metabolize collective activation and transform it into grounded, compassionate response.

Program Inspiration
This program is inspired by Richard Schwartz's reflections on the importance of Self leadership during times of challenge and uncertainty.
IFS in Challenging Times translates those reflections into practical clinical learning, helping therapists remain grounded, effective, and compassionate while supporting clients.
Social Impact Commitment
As part of the IFS Institute's ongoing commitment to supporting individuals, families, and communities facing hardship, 10% of net program revenue will be donated to an immigration support organization serving individuals and families affected by current policies.
This contribution reflects the values at the heart of the program: supporting people in times of challenge and uncertainty while helping participants strengthen Self-leadership and apply IFS principles with greater clarity, compassion, and care.
