Join us this January for an immersive retreat designed for intimate partners. To preserve the retreat’s intimate and experiential nature, registration is limited to 25 partnerships.
Many of us grow up believing that our partner(s) should take away our pain and make us feel whole. When that doesn’t happen, we may begin to doubt the relationship itself. We try to get our partner(s) to change, or we look to others — people, substances, or activities— to ease the pain. None of these strategies work for very long.
In truth, no partner can shield the pain and shame that parts of us carry. When we rely on our partner(s) to take away our pain, we often find ourselves feeling disconnected and dissatisfied. We can make our way back to each other by learning to care for the young, vulnerable parts of ourselves and helping them release their burdens.
When we do our own work to heal our wounded parts, we can offer our partner(s) a love that is courageous and unconditional—one that doesn’t depend on them fixing our hurts. This allows partners to step out of the impossible role of emotional caretaker and instead show up as steady, supportive companions.
The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model offers a powerful pathway to bring more Self-energy into your relationship, allowing everyone to feel more connected, resilient, and alive. When partners connect from Self, even charged conversations can become pathways to greater closeness and harmony.
During this immersive retreat, Richard Schwartz, PhD and Jeanne Catanzaro, PhD, will guide you and your partner(s) in cultivating this kind of courageous love. Through the IFS model, you will:
• Identify and get to know the parts of yourself that block intimacy.
• Learn to communicate from a place of clarity, compassion, calm, and confidence—qualities of the Self.
• Cultivate the safety needed to share your most vulnerable parts and deepen trust with one another.
Set in a spacious and restorative retreat environment, the program blends teaching, guided practices, and partner-based exercises with time for reflection and connection.
Who This Retreat is For
This retreat is designed for intimate partners attending together. We warmly welcome all partnerships—whether two-person or part of a polyamorous or other diverse constellation—including partners of any gender, sexual orientation, or relationship length.
The retreat is suitable for both therapists and non-therapists with a basic understanding of the IFS model. Please Note: This retreat offers an opportunity for your own personal reflection and connection. It is not a professional training and does not include guidance on leading or facilitating similar work for others.
Participant Prerequisite
Because this retreat is deeply immersive and experiential, participants must have a foundational understanding of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. This will support your ability to engage fully in the teachings and guided practices and explore your own inner parts—and those of your partner(s)—with safety, openness, and care.
Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships were available to help make this retreat more accessible. We are no longer accepting scholarship applications. If you submitted a scholarship application, we are in the process of contacting recipients.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received by December 1, 2025, will be refunded minus a $500 administrative fee. After this date, refunds are not available. We encourage you to review the full cancelation policy before registering. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us create a retreat environment that feels supportive for all participants.
We invite you to join us for this unique opportunity to strengthen your bond by reconnecting with your Self and bringing courageous love to the heart of your relationship.
